Pho - noodle soup

Bun Thang is the dish that cooking method requires carefully and sophisticatedly when cooking. Bun is dip in hot water, put in a large bowl, ornamented on the surface with thin omelet, lean meat pie, chipped pork, chicken, mushrooms and onion… then poured with hot consommé.

Cha ca La Vong

Hanoi is also known for a dish that is considered the specialty here: Cha ca La Vong (La Vong fried fish dish). Fried fish is made from fresh hemibagrus. The fish meat was cut from two fish sides, sliced, marinated with galangal water, saffron, ferment, pepper, fish sauce in a special way, then grilled over charcoal and fried in fat pan. Hot fried fish dish is served with baked pancakes or tangled noodles (bun roi), roasted peanuts, coriander, fennel, fresh chopped onions, and special shrimp sauce mixed with sugar, chili and fresh lemon. Bun cha

Banh cuon

Banh cuon (rice rolls) is a traditional dish in the Northern of Vietnam. It is made from rice-flour and water, and used hot steam to make rice rolls ripen. It has the very thin and light rolls. The cookers put some yellow fried-onions and black mushrooms layers. Banh cuon is served with fish sauce, mixed with lemon and sugar, and eaten with a few roasted cinnamon pork dipped in the sauce.

Sticky rice is a familiar dish of Vietnamese people. You may find this food in almost every outdoors market. Banh My

Bread originates from France. During the French colonialism invaded Vietnam, bread also became our country’s cuisine, however it has been changed a lot. Bun oc

“Bun oc” (Cold snail noodle) is specific dish of Hanoi. Not be the same as Bun cha or Banh My, it is very hard to find the restaurants served “Bun oc” and only a little people can cook this dish well. Bun (rice noodles) is dipped in hot water and put in a bowl, set snails, roasted pork, fried soya-cake, and poured tomato-based broth into the bowl. You can add some chili and wine vinegar to make your “bun oc” bowl more fragrant and delicious.
